He then won a silver medal at the 2021 Junior Pan American Games in Colombia where he was also one of the flag bearers for the United States during the opening ceremony. Such an early success set a solid foundation for his future.

In 2022, Morris reached some really significant milestones. He continued the winning streak at the 2022 Pan American Weightlifting Championships in Bogota, Colombia, by setting yet another junior world record of 162 kg in the clean and jerk. Later that same year, he improved his record to 163 kg at the Pan American Junior Weightlifting Championships in Lima, Peru.

His impressive performance didn’t stop there, it continued at the 2023 Pan American Weightlifting Championships in Bariloche, Argentina, where he won the gold medal in both the snatch and clean and jerk events in the men’s 61 kg category. But the true highlight of his career came on September 6th, 2023, when he won the gold medal in the clean and jerk at the World Weightlifting Championships and became the first American to do this since 1972. Morris holds both the junior and senior world records in the clean and jerk for the 61 kg category, which just proves how exceptional his technique is and how much strength he has.
