Hampton Morris Won Bronze at the 2024 Paris Olympics (Men’s 61 kg)

Hampton Morris of the United States secured the bronze medal in the men’s 61 kg weightlifting category at the 2024 Olympics with a standout performance. He totaled 298 kg, comprised of a 126 kg snatch and a notable 172 kg in the clean and jerk. 

On the snatch, he had first successful lift of 122 kg, then an unsuccessful second one of 125 kg and only then got his final third attempt that was also his best one. His clean and jerk lift was particularly impressive – he had one unsuccessful attempt of 168 kg, then a second successful one of 172 kg , earning him first place in that session and significantly contributing to his overall success.

He also tried to lift 178 kg at his third attempt, which could bring him silver and Olympic Record in C&J, but unfortunately, Hampton failed.

This achievement ended the U.S.‘s 40-year medal drought in Olympic weightlifting, underscoring Morris’s impact on the sport.
