Weronika Zielinska Stubinska won Gold in the Women’s 81 kg Category (2024 IWF European Championships)

Day 7 of the European Championships was set for the women’s 81 kg category, where we saw fierce competition between female athletes who were ready to give it their all to secure a podium spot and show fantastic results. 

For Weronika Zielinska from Poland, this was one of the best competitions of her life. She started off extremely well, lifting 103 kg on her second Snatch attempt, which was enough to get her the gold medal for the movement.

Zielinska continued her great performance, lifting 127 kg on her first C&J attempt and then getting 132 kg on her final one, which gave her another gold medal for the second movement as well.

With two gold medals and a total of 235 kg, Weronika Zielinka became the new European Champion for the women’s 81 kg category – her best career result so far.

Prior to this competition, Zielinska had ranked 7th during last year’s European Championships and 6th at the 2023 World Championships in Riyadh. Her greatest result prior to this one was from the 2022 Europeans, where she finished 4th overall.
