Men’s 67 kg Division Recap – IWF European Weightlifting Championships 2024

Day 3 of the European Weightlifting Championships in Sofia displayed impressive lifting in the Men’s 67-kg weight category, where nine male athletes were performing in the Group A.
As we already mentioned, the US team participates in this competition as a guest country.
So, the results of the American lifters aren’t included in the overall ranking and are counted separately.

Sahakyan Got Luck by Winning Gold Followed by Two Turkish Athletes
Let’s see the TOP 3 weightlifters who gained the highest awards due to their exemplary lifts:
🥇Gor Sahakyan (ARM) – 140-171-311
🥈Kahriman Kaan (TUR) – 142-168-310
🥉Hardal Ferdi (TUR) – 135-169-304
The winner in the category was Gor Sahakyan from Armenia who performed Snatch at 140 kg on the first attempt, Clean & Jerk at 171 kg on the first try, and 311 kg in total.
The second place was occupied by Kaan Kahriman from Turkey who did 310 kg in total, 142 kg in Snatch on the third try, and 168 kg in Clean & Jerk on the third attempt as well.
The bronze medalist was his compatriot Hardal Ferdi from Turkey who snatched 135 kg on the first attempt, 169 kg in Clean & Jerk on the second try, and got a total of 304 kg.
Top Athletes’ Review
The 67-kg weight category winner Gor Sahakyan is an Armenian weightlifter who is a two-time European Champion in 2023 in 2024, bronze medalist at the World Championships in Riyadh. Today he showed 9 kilos less than his total at the European Championships in Yerevan.
Speaking about the silver medalist, Kaan Kahriman from Turkey, he won the silver medal at the 2023 European Championships held in Yerevan. He also competed at the 2022 World Championships in Heraklion. He also took bronze at the 2022 European Junior Championships in Durres.
The bronze holder Hardal Ferdi from Turkey is a two-time bronze medalist at the European Championships in 2019 and 2021, is a two-time gold medalist at the Mediterranean Games.
Snatch results:
Considering the Snatch performance, we can state that the performance was pretty good, just with several no-lifts, and no athlete bombed out.
