We promised more coverage from the 2024 Asian Championships, so we’re delivering a short recap of the little wins that happened during the women’s 59 kg division.

In this interesting category, where a lot of unexpected winners showed up, we had yet another one in the face of Thanaporn Saetia, who managed to get a bronze medal for her snatch.

The snatch performance was not the best one we’ve seen as most of the competitors managed to get at least one failed attempt, and so amongst the many red lights, Thanaporn Saetia managed to deliver a great lift. She managed to get 96 kg, but on her final attempt, which left her with the bronze medal for the event, even though she managed to lift the same amount as the silver medalist.

Aside from this current success, the Thai lifter has so far not impressed in her career, as she made her appearance in the senior competitions only last year and has not managed to place in a podium position so far.
