News Europe 2024 Olympic Weightlifting

Sarah Davies achieved Bronze in Clean & Jerk in the Women’s 71 kg Category at the 2024 European Weightlifting Championships

On day 5th of the European Championships, we continued to witness an incredible battle for the top spots and a real fight amongst some of the best lifters in women’s weightlifting.

In the women’s 71 kg category, we saw a memorable performance from Sarah Davies from Great Britain, who managed to win the bronze medal for the Clean & Jerk movement.

She started off shakily and was unable to lift her first attempt of 127 kg. She then tried for 128 kg, but her second attempt was also unsuccessful.

Thankfully, on her third and final try, she was finally able to lift 128 kg, which was enough to get her the bronze medal for the movement. Unfortunately, in the overall rankings, Sarah failed to show her best form and finished sixth, largely due to her Snatch performance, which also left her in seventh place for the movement.
