Rustamova Anamjan wins silver medal at IWF Grand Prix II in Qatar (2023)

On the tenth day of the Grand Prix II in Doha, Rustamova Anamjan performed brilliantly in the Women’s 87 kg competition, ranking 2nd position to win a silver medal. In addition, she won a bronze medal in Snatch and a gold medal in Clean & Jerk, adding three more medals to the table for Turkmenistan.

The competition was fierce among the athletes of the 87 kg category, with Armenian teammates Khurshudyan Hripsime and Hakobyan Tatev securing gold and silver medals respectively in the overall competition, each separated by a slim margin of 1 kg.

Anamjan scored 105 kg in Snatch to win the bronze medal, lifting only 1 kg less than Hripsime who won the silver medal.

In Clean and Jerk, Anamjan secured the gold medal with a lift of 126 kg, while Armenia’s Tatev closed in with 123 kg to win the bronze medal.

At only 17 years old (born May 8, 2006), the young athlete has established a successful career and shown remarkable dedication in beating her past records. 

Comparing the recent results with her previous accomplishments, Anamjan has improved her total score at the Asian Championship in Jinju (2023) by 5 kg, where she placed 5th in the competition with a total lift of 226 kg.
