IWF Grand Prix II, Day 6 Recap – Men’s 81 kg results

Today we were watching the performance of the next Men’s division of 81 kg where we saw ultimate resilience and confidence among the leaders. The atmosphere was tense, each contender was gearing up, transforming every lift into triumph. With each successful lift, every athlete was a step closer to their big goals.

Let’s uncover the leaders of today’s competition day by enumerating their accomplishments.

Highlights of the Category Men’s 81 kg: Ri Chong Song is Equaling C&J World Record, while Rahmat Did His Best Snatch and Total

Today nine male lifters from the 81-kg division showed their strength and exceptional physical form, but just four of them were the most remarkable and caught our attention thanks to the following lifts. 

The category’s winner became Ri Chong Song who did a Snatch of 165 kg, Clean&Jerk of 209 kg, and 374 kg total.

The silver medal went to a lifter from Indonesia, Abdullah Rahmat Erwin who performed 362 kg total, 161 kg in Snatch, and 201 kg in Clean&Jerk. 

Bronze was clinched by Torayev Gaygysyz from Turkmenistan who lifted 150 kg in the Snatch round, 188 kg in Clean & Jerk, and in total he got 338 kg.

Let’s remember the most remarkable moments of the performances of the Top lifters. Let’s start with our gold winner: Ri Chong Song once again proves his team’s serious commitment to victory.

Today he even improved his previous result at the 2023 Asian Games: in Hangzhou he set two Asian Games records in Snatch by lifting 169 kg and a total of 364 kg. While his Clean & Jerk was 195 kg. So, he improved his total by 10 kilos and jerk by 14 kilos respectively. Thus, he was equaling the C & J World Record.

What about the silver medalist, Rahmat Erwin, he did his career best total of 362 kg that is 3 kilos more compared to his result in 2022 at the Asians. Also, he did his personal best in Snatch. Nevertheless, he’s still the current World Record holder in Clean & Jerk of 209 kg which he set at the Worlds in Riyadh.

Today Torayev Gaygysyz improved his total by 3 kilos. Let’s remind you that he won silver at the Youth World Championships in Mexico with a total result of 335 kg.

To summarize, here’s the whole list of medalists of the 81-kg division:

  • 🥇Ri Chong Song won 3 golds.
  • 🥈Rahmat Erwin got 3 silver medals.
  • 🥉Torayev Gaygysyz won 2 bronzes in Clean & Jerk and totals.
  • 🥉Albanian Calja Briken took 1 bronze in Snatch.
