Mun Minhee won Bronze in the Women’s 71 kg Event At The 2024 IWF Asian Championships

The women’s 71 kg event happened on the fifth day of the 2024 Asian Championships, and it brought us some surprising results and an intense competition for the podium spots. In third place, we had an unexpected performance from Mun Min-Hee, whose last medal came back in 2018 at the Asian Games in a different category –  the 81 kg.

Yesterday, she came out ready to show herself in the best possible light and began by lifting 97 kg on the snatch on her first attempt and 102 kg on the final attempt, which gave her the bronze medal for that lift.

Along with that, she lifted 129 kg on the Clean & Jerk in her second attempt and wanted to go for 132 kg but ultimately failed – still, this amount was enough for her to win a second bronze for the day and the bronze for the division overall.

Mun Min-Hee got 231 kg in total, just 5 kg less than second-placed Chen Wen-Huei from Taipei; however, considering her latest results, this was a big win for the South Korean.
