Medine Bilicier won Bronze in Snatch During the Women’s 49 kg Category at the 2024 IWF European Championships

The first day of the European Weightlifting Championships in Sofia is already behind us, and thankfully, it didn’t disappoint.

During the women’s 49 kg category, we saw a lot of favorites losing and a lot of new names appearing on the scene during one of the last competitions prior to the Olympic Games this summer.

For team Turkey, the success during the women’s 49 kg event came during the snatch lift. Aside from Alici Duygu, who managed to win the silver medal, Medine Bilicier also managed to get on the podium and steal the last spot. The Turkish lifter started weakly by failing on her 74 kg attempt.

However, later on, she managed to compose herself and lift the same weight during the second attempt, which ended up being enough for her to snatch the bronze medal for the lift.
