Kim Iseul Keeps All Three Bronze at the 2024 IWF Asian Championships

Day 6 at the 2024 IWF Asian Championships and the 81 kg female category was full of jaw dropping performances by all lifters, South Korea’s Kim Iseul came into the scene and kept her performance consistent enough to manage to keep all three bronze medals for her team, let’s go through her performance.

For the Snatch session Iseul started with her best lift at 105 kg that resulted in a good lift, then she tried 108 kg for her second attempt which she didn’t manage to stabilize and failed it backwards, then tried again the same weight for her third attempt but couldn’t lift it as she didn’t manage to stabilize her right arm and failed it forward.

Giving her a 105 kg score, enough for a bronze medal for the South Korean team.

In the Clean and Jerk session she started with a 128 kg good lift, then went up to try 133 kg that resulted in a good lift that looked quite powerful, then went up to try and lift 140 kg but failed after possible feeling light headed after the Clean and falling backwards. Her performance gave her a score of 133 kg, good enough for a bronze medal.

In the Total Kim Iseul for a score of 238 kg, only 5 kg behind the second place. It can be said that her performance wasn’t one hundred percent well, because we can take into consideration that she only got 50% of her lifts, but her first attempt at the Snatch and second attempt at the Clean and Jerk was enough to get her a place on the podium.
