2024 IWF Asian Championships: Rizki Juniansyah got the Silver Medal in the 73 kg Men’s Event

For Indonesia, this year’s edition of the Asian Championships has been more than successful, as they’ve managed to win 12 medals in total. One athlete who added to that count is Rizki Juniansyah, who won the silver medal for the 73 kg men’s event yesterday.

The Indonesian lifter showed a fantastic performance, lifting a total of 353 kg, almost 20 kg more than 3rd-placed Masanori Miyamoto from Japan. His total included 158 kg on the snatch and 195 kg in the Clean&Jerk event, which meant that he had silver medals for those individual lifts as well, falling only behind the gold medalist Rahmat Erwin Abdullah.

Before this silver medal finish, Rizki had already set a Junior World Record in his category back in 2021 during the Junior World Championships. A year later, in 2022, came his biggest achievement as a senior when he won the silver medal at the World Championships in Bogota with a gold medal in the snatch event.
