Rising Star in Indonesian Weightlifting

Juniasyah Rizki was born on June 17th, 2003, and he’s a prominent Indonesian weightlifter. His journey in weightlifting has been nothing short of impressive and he has a series of victories and records that prove just how talented and dedicated he is. He’s already won multiple gold medals at junior world championships and has set several junior world records. In 2022, he won a silver medal at the World Weightlifting Championships in Bogota, Colombia, and in 2023, he won a gold medal at the SEA Games and the IWF World Cup. 

His first big international success was at the 2019 Asian Youth Championships, where he won a silver medal in the 67 kg category with a total lift of 287 kg. In 2020, he competed at the Asian Junior Championships and finished fourth in the 73 kg category with a total lift of 307 kg. 

2021 was his breakthrough year. He won the gold medal in the men’s 73 kg event at the junior World Weightlifting Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, with a total lift of 349 kg (155 kg in snatch and 194 in clean and jerk). 

In 2022, he won another gold medal at the Junior World Weightlifting Championships in Heraklion, Greece. He also set a new world record in the snatch with a lift of 156 kg. 

He proved he could compete with the best when he transitioned to the senior competitions. In 2022, he won a silver medal in the men’s 73 kg event at the World Weightlifting Championships in Bogota, Colombia, with a total lift of 347 kg. At the 2022 Islamic Solidarity Games in Konya, Turkey, he won a gold medal in the men’s 73 kg event with a total lift of 340 kg. 

He continued to impress in 2023. He won a gold medal at the 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia when he lifted 156 kg in the snatch and 191 kg in the clean and jerk, which came to a total of 347 kg. At the IWF World Cup in Paris 2024, he won another gold medal in the 73 kg category with a total lift of 465 kg (164 kg in the snatch and 201 kg in the clean and jerk).

With his impressive track record and unwavering determination, Rizki Juniasyah is set to continue making history in the world of lifting.
