Luis Javier Mosquera secures Podium in Snatch at IWF Grand Prix II in Qatar

At Qatar a lot of tremendous athletes have performed at the platform and Luis Mosquera is one of them, the competition was fierce at the 73 kg category but Mosquera managed to finish between the top in the Snatch, showing us that Latin America and Colombia is there to shine.

Mosquera, our silver medalist in Snatch, who has set two Pan American records in Snatch and total in his categories has a record of two time gold and also two time silver medals at the Pan Ams. Hi steppen with confidence at the platform with his eyes on the 150 kg to Snatch his first attempt, then he went on to Snatch 154 kg and 156 kg, that third attempt got him the third best result in his category, giving him a bronze medal for the Colombian.

The story was much more different in the Clean and Jerk, the bar was too heavy and the difference between one stop on the podium and outside of the podium was barely visible. Mosquera ended up lifting a successful 180 kg on his Clean and Jerk, but that only managed to give him the fifth place tied to Muhammed Ozbek, his next competitor, Doston Yokubov surpassed him by only 2 kg.

Luis Mosquera, born in Colombia has been in the scene for quite a while, he has an impressive list of achievements like qualifying to the 2020 Olympics and winning a bronze medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics. He was born in 1995 and is 28 years old, his height is 1,65 m and is currently competing at the 73 kg category.
