IWF Grand Prix II, Day 10 Recap – Women’s 87 kg results

The tenth day of the Grand Prix II in Doha brought us top-notch performance in the Women’s 87-kg category. Nine female athletes accumulated all their endeavors to showcase their power and settle the ranking spots between the leaders.
Highlights of the Category Women’s 87 kg: Armenian Athletes Total Prevail with Turkmenistan Follows with Minimal Gap
This competition day was memorable as the Women’s 87-kg weight category showed the following numbers: the leader became Khurshudyan Hripsime from Armenia who got a silver medal in Snatch of 106 kg, Clean&Jerk of 126 kg, and 232 kg in total. This time she showed better results, namely she improved her total by 5 kilos compared to her 227 kg at the European Championships that brought her bronze.
The second place moved to a lifter from Turkmenistan Rustamova Anamjan who performed a total of 231 kg, 105 kg in Snatch, and 126 kg in Clean&Jerk. Looking back at her accomplishments, she lifted 5 kilos more than at the Asian Championships in Jinju: she resulted with 226 kg, 102 kg in Snatch, and 124 kg in Clean & Jerk ranking fifth.

Bronze went to Hakobyan Tatev from Armenia who lifted 107 kg in Snatch, 123 kg in Clean & Jerk, and in total, she gained 230 kg, just 2 kg less than her teammate Khurshudyan. At the Europeans in Yerevan, she competed in the 76-kg weight division and won silver with 226 kg in total.
To conclude today’s battle in the 87-kg category, these three athletes share the top positions between them, leaving the rest of the opponents without chances to win a medal. Thus, all the wins were divided between Armenia and Turkmenistan.

- Khurshudyan Hripsime won 2 silver medals in Snatch and Clean & Jerk, and gold in totals.
