The first day of the Grand Prix II in Doha was memorable due to new remarkable lifts and personal bests among the lifters from Men’s 55 kg of Group A.
Pang Un Chol’s flash win after a two-year absence at world competitions
Let’s remind you of the TOP 3 lifters who competed today and took the highest rewards: the leader was Pang Un Chol who got total gold in Snatch of 116 kg, Clean&Jerk of 152 kg, and 268 kg total.
The second place and silver moved to a lifter from Indonesia, Nugroho Satrio Adi who performed his total of 254 kg, 115 kg in Snatch, and 139 kg in Clean & Jerk.

Bronze was taken by Yodage Dilanka Isuru Kumara from Sri Lanka who saved bronze with 112 kg in the Snatch round, 133 kg in Clean & Jerk, and in a total gained 245 kg.
This day we had the ultimate leader in all rounds, Pang Un Chol who clinched the gold medal with a great gap of 14 kilos between him and the second place.
Fortunately, Pang Un Chol brought a remarkable victory to his country.
Speaking about Nugroho Satrio Adi, at the previous Worlds in Riyadh, he ranked 6th in all rounds with 115 kg in Snatch, 135 kg in Clean & Jerk, and 250 kg in total. So, today he improved his results by 4 kilos.
The bronze holder Yodage Dilanka Isuru Kumara from Sri Lanka earlier qualified to compete for Sri Lanka at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, where he won bronze as well. Also, he competed at the Asian Championships being ranked third, forth spots.
Another lifter of the 55 kg group, Rizqih Muhamad Ibnul from Indonesia became 4th: he managed to win silver in the Snatch round by defeating the bronzer holder by one kilo – he lifted 113 kg, by making Yodage Dilanka Isuru Kumara stay behind with 112 kg.
