2024 IWF Asian Championships: Chen Po-Jen won the Bronze in the Men’s 102 kg Event

The 2024 Asian Championships are coming to an end, so we should enjoy the spectacle while we can. Thankfully, the athletes competing in the men’s 102 kg event gave us loads to talk about. 

In third place, winning his first medal in the 102 kg division, was Chen Po-Jen from Taiwan.

He showed an outstanding performance during the competition, lifting 176 kg on the snatch for his only successful lift, which was still enough to give him the silver medal for that move.

On the clean & jerk lift, he managed to get 206 kg for the bronze medal in the move and a total of 382 kg, which was enough to give him the final spot on the podium.

For Chen Po-Jen, his biggest wins prior to this one came in the 96 kg category, where he represented Chinese Taipei at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo and managed to also win a silver medal during the 2022 Asian Championships in Manama. Since switching to the heavy division, this is the first time he has managed to win a medal.
