The snatch session saw Liao Guifang dominate with a 123 kg, well ahead of her competitors. Mongolian Munkhjantsan A. secured silver with a solid 116 kg, and Kim Kyong Ryong clinched bronze with 114 kg.

Liao extended her lead in the clean & jerk, lifting an impressive 155 kg to secure another gold. Ahmed Sara from Egypt followed with 149 kg for silver, and Kim Kyong Ryong claimed her second bronze of the day with a 147 kg.
