Men’s 67kg category: Ri Won Ju Set a new record

Day 3 of the 2024 World Weightlifting Championships witnessed an extraordinary display of strength and determination in the Men’s 67kg category. Ri Won Ju set a new clean & jerk world record and won the gold medal in total.

Men’s 67kg category: Snatch Session Review

The snatch session was a nail-biter, with Pak Pyol taking the lead at 150 kg. Zheng Xinhao (CHN) and Kaan Kahriman (TUR) both posted 148 kg, but Kahriman secured the bronze cause he did it after Zheng and made history by setting a Junior World Record in snatch.

Men’s 67kg category: Clean and Jerk Session Review

The clean & jerk session was dominated by Ri Won Ju, who set a new World Record with a 190 kg. Pak Pyol opened with 182 kg to secure silver, and then failed for 190 and 191 kg World Records attempts. While Turkey’s Yusuf Genc claimed bronze with 181 kg, capping off an impressive performance by the Turkish team in this category.

Women’s 55kg category: Snatch Session Review

In the snatch, Kang Hyon Gyong led with a confident lift of 100 kg, while Zhang Haiqin from China secured silver with 97 kg. Chen Guan-Ling (TPE) claimed the bronze with a solid 93 kg effort, setting the stage for a competitive clean & jerk session.
