Jong Chun Hui Continues Collecting Gold Medals for Her Country Leaving Zero Chances for Her Rivals

Here are today’s leaders who managed to outshine thanks to their solid performance and mastery and get to the Top 3:
- 🥇Jong Chun Hui (PRK) – 111-125-236
- 🥈Elaheh Razzaghi (IRI) – 96-124-220
- 🥉Melnichenko Tatiana (KGZ) – 97-122-219
The gold medalist in the Women’s 76-kg weight category became Jong Chun Hui who took three golds in Snatch at 111 kg, Clean & Jerk at 125 kg, and 236 kg in total.
The second place moved to the weightlifter from Iran Elaheh Razzaghi who performed 220 kg in total, 96 kg in Snatch, and 124 kg in Clean & Jerk.
Melnichenko Tatiana from Kyrgyzstan became third with the following results: 97 kg in Snatch, 122 kg in Clean & Jerk, and a total of 219 kg.
All in all, the performance was solid displaying inner competition between the most outstanding athletes. Today’s leader finished with a great weight gap of 16 and 17 kilos ahead of the second and third places respectively. However, we can state that generally half of all lifts were indicated with no-lifts in both exercises.
Top Athletes’ Review
The 76-kg weight category gold medalist Jong Chun Hui lifted 111 kg in Snatch, and 125 kg in Clean & Jerk, resulting in 236 kg in total. Previously she won the silver medal at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics with a result of 81-100-181. At the 2017 Summer Universiade in New Taipei, she clinched bronze showing the results of 97-121-218.
Concerning the silver medalist Elaheh Razzaghi from Iran, she did 220 kg overall, 96 kg in Snatch, and 124 kg in Clean & Jerk. Her prior performance at the World Championships in Riyadh was quite unsuccessful as she finished seventh showing poor results: she bombed out in the Snatch round, and lifted 119 kg in Clean & Jerk at the third attempt.
The bronze medal moved to Melnichenko Tatiana from Kyrgyzstan. She did 97 kg in Snatch on the third attempt, 122 kg in Clean & Jerk on the third try as well, and 219 kg in total. Just one kilo left to the second place and 17 kilos to the winner.

After watching the Snatch performance, we can confirm that almost half of all lifts resulted in no red lights.

Clean & Jerk results:
The situation in the Clean & Jerk session was the same: the majority showed red lights on their two attempts, while just two lifters had all three successful attempts.
