WWC In Riyadh 2023, Day 3 – Men’s 61 kg Results: China leads the 3rd competition day

The third day of the competition in Riyadh brought us new winners in the Men’s 61 kg division from Group A. Top winners became closer to qualifying for the Olympic Games in Paris 2024 due to their outstanding results.

The first place and gold moved to a lifter from China, Li Fabin, who did his best to lift 308 kg in total, 141 kg in Snatch, and 167 kg in Clean & Jerk. Moreover, he succeeded to break the Junior World Record in the total results. Li tried to break his own previous WR in Snatch of 146 kg on the third attempt, but, unfortunately, he failed to lift the weights. Still, the performance was pretty incredible and powerful.

The second place was taken by Sergio Massidda from Italy who struck silver with his Snatch of 137 kg, Clean & Jerk of 165 kg, and 302 kg total.

The bronze medalist became Ding Hongjie, an athlete from China as well, who managed to do 301 kg total, 135 kg of Snatch, and 166 kg of Clean & Jerk.

Additionally, another Junior World Record in Clean and Jerk was broken by a lifter from the USA, Morris Hampton, who lifted 168 kg in the third attempt in the exercise.

Other athletes also showed great results today: Shota Mishvelidze from Georgia got bronze in a Snatch by lifting 136 kg. Also, Mohamad Bin Mas took bronze in C&J with his result of 166 kg.
