Theeapong Silachai Won Silver at the 2024 Paris Olympics (Men’s 61 kg)

Theerapong Silachai of Thailand captured the silver medal in the men’s 61 kg weightlifting competition at the 2024 Olympics, delivering a standout performance that underscored his place among the sport’s elite. Silachai totaled 303 kg, comprising a solid 132 kg in the Snatch and a powerful 171 kg in the Clean & Jerk.

In the Snatch, Silachai successfully lifted 127 kg in first attempt, 130 kg in his second attempt, and saved his best for last, lifting 132 kg on his third attempt, which positioned him well against the competition. In the Clean & Jerk, after a successful opening lift of 167 kg, he increased the weight to 169 kg, and then to 171 securing the lift on his third attempt to solidify his silver-medal position.

His contender, Hampton Morris, tried to lift 178 kg at his third attempt, which could bring him silver and Olympic Record in C&J, but fortunately for Theeapong, Hampton failed.
