Emily Campbell, the British weightlifting sensation, added another accolade to her already impressive career by winning the bronze medal in the Women’s +81 kg category at the 2024 Olympic Games.

Her performance solidified her status as one of the top competitors in the sport, bringing pride to Great Britain on the world’s biggest stage.

The competition began with the Snatch exercise, where Campbell delivered a strong performance. She successfully lifted 119 kg in her first attempt, followed by a 123 kg lift in her second attempt. On her final lift, she achieved 126 kg, securing third place in the Snatch.

This result kept her in close contention with the top competitors, setting the stage for a thrilling battle in the Clean & Jerk.

In the Clean & Jerk, Campbell demonstrated her resilience and strength. She started with a successful lift of 162 kg, which ensured her a place on the podium. However, her next two attempts at 169 kg and 174 kg were unsuccessful, as she took the risk to challenge the leaders. Despite these setbacks, her initial lift was enough to secure her the bronze medal and place on the Olympic podium .

Her total of 288 kg across both exercises earned her the overall bronze medal. She finished just 11 kg behind silver medalist Park Hyejeong from South Korea and 21 kg behind the gold medalist, Li Wenwen from China.
