Hampton Morris Squats a Personal Best During Training Block Ahead of the Olympics

As we’ve previously discussed, Hampton Morris is one of the biggest talents in weightlifting that the United States has seen in years.

After terrific performances earlier this year, Morris is preparing for his first-ever Olympic Games, and by the looks of it, he will head into the biggest competition for the last four years in great shape.

In a recent video posted to his Instagram page, the American is squatting 201 kg for ten reps, which is 8 kg more than his previous best.

This is the latest training clip we’re seeing from Hampton Morris that’s more than impressive, and that shows he’s more than ready to attack a spot on the podium in Paris later on this year.

Just as a reminder, Morris recently set the first American world record in over 50 years by lifting 176 on the Clean & Jerk during the IWF World Cup in Thailand and winning second place in that competition. Along with that, in February, when competing at the Europeans, he again showed a fantastic performance and would have had a spot on the podium, if the American team was allowed to fight for medals.
