World Champion, Asian Medallist

Artyom Antropov, born January 23rd, 2000, in Kazakhstan, is a Kazakhstani weightlifter competing in the 96 kg and 102 kg categories. Known for his steady rise from youth competitions to senior world champion, he has established himself as one of Kazakhstan’s premier male lifters.

Antropov first came to international attention in 2017, winning gold at the Youth World Weightlifting Championships in the 85 kg division. As he matured, he gradually moved up in weight classes while refining his technique and strength, preparing for senior-level competition.

He began making waves at the senior level in 2022 at the Asian Weightlifting Championships in Manama, where he earned bronze in total in the 102 kg class. This result set the stage for his breakthrough at the global level.

The defining moment of Antropov’s career came at the 2024 World Weightlifting Championships in Manama, Bahrain. Competing in the 102 kg class, he lifted 170 kg in snatch and 230 kg in clean&jerk, totaling 400 kg, to claim the gold medal – his first senior world championship title. This performance marked him as the top lifter in his division worldwide and a leading figure in Kazakh weightlifting.

In 2025, Antropov continued to demonstrate his elite status at the Asian Weightlifting Championships in Jiangshan, China, winning silver in the 102 kg category with a total of 386 kg (165 kg snatch + 221 kg clean&jerk). Later that year, at the Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh, he earned bronze in clean&jerk with 223 kg in the under‑110 kg division, showing his versatility across weight categories.

Artyom Antropov’s best competition lifts include 170 kg in snatch and 230 kg in clean&jerk. At 25 years old, he is already a World Champion, Asian Medallist, and record-setting lifter. His journey from youth champion to senior world titleholder reflects technical mastery, consistent progression, and resilience against top international competition.

Antropov is considered one of the most promising weightlifters of his generation and a key medal hope for Kazakhstan at upcoming World Championships and Olympic Games. His continued improvement and competitive consistency suggest that he will remain a dominant figure in the 102 kg category for years to come.
