One of the most prominent figures in Olympic weightlifting today and a contender for a gold medal in Paris, Karlos Nasar, has chosen to not stay in the Olympic village. Instead, the Bulgarian is renting a small house in Paris, where he can prepare alongside his team.
Nasar took to social media to show his place for the Games, as well as to explain his decision in a quick video on Instagram:
“I’m trying to show you my preparation in Paris. I won’t be in the Olympic Village, as you already know. I just rented a car with my team Atanas Litkov and Zhechko Stoyanov. Why won’t I be in the Olympic Village? It is important for me to keep myself physically and mentally.

I experienced a lot of emotions and had a lot of events during the year, so I decided to be in a bit more solitary place. Enough of me telling you, let me show you.
This is the house I rented in a village near Paris, and now I’m going to take you to see it. It’s definitely not something fancy and impressive, more authentic and has the necessary tranquility.
I will spend the next few days here, and I will set foot in the Olympic Village on the first of August and show you around there as well,” Nasar said and then showed not only the villa but also the gym where he will be training.
From his statement, it’s clear that Karlos will arrive at the Olympic Village at some point, but closer to when he’s actually set to compete – on the first of August.
As you probably already know, Nasar has dominated the 89 kg this year, winning multiple competitions and setting a few records along the way. He goes into the Paris Olympics as the favorite for gold in his category, and we’re all waiting to see his performances once the weightlifting competition kicks off.
