With countless pre-workout supplements out there, it can be difficult to decide which products are worth your money. That’s why we’re doing an in-depth review of Huge Wrecked pre-workout. 

In this review, we’ll be covering its pros and cons, as well as comparing it to a few competitors. This way, you’ll be able to make a more informed decision about whether or not this pre-workout is worth it.

Huge Supplements has been around since 2019, and has quickly become a leader in the supplement space and has partnered with some of the top fitness influencers out there. But, is Huge Supplements pre-workout Wrecked worth it?

The caffeine dosage will be good for most pre-workout beginners, although experienced users will likely want a stronger supplement.

It’s worth noting that this supplement is made with artificial flavors and contains the artificial sweetener sucralose. While this won’t bother most people, keep this in mind if you prefer to avoid artificial sweeteners. 

Finally, Wrecked is only ~$1.24 per serving, which is quite affordable for a pre-workout supplement. This combined with the moderate dose of caffeine makes Wrecked a great option for anybody looking to try their first pre-workout supplement.

Wrecked Pre-Workout Ingredients Breakdown

Now that we’ve done a quick overview of Wrecked, let's take a closer look at its ingredients, their doses, and what effects you can expect from them. The four main ingredients we’ll be covering are caffeine, L-Citrulline, Betaine, and Beta-Alanine. 

1. Caffeine and Di-Caffeine Malate

This is the main pre-workout ingredient that will have a noticeable effect on you, namely through boosting energy. Because of this, caffeine is commonly used as a sports supplement, mainly to enhance endurance and reduce fatigue

So, how much caffeine is in Wrecked pre-workout? Wrecked contains 150mg of caffeine, which is a fairly moderate dose for a pre-workout supplement. 

In addition to this 125mg of anhydrous caffeine, Wrecked contains an additional 50mg of Di-Caffeine Malate. This is essentially a form of caffeine mixed with malic acid, which is meant to provide a slower release. This may in turn help alleviate digestive issues that can be caused by caffeine, although there is minimal research available to support this hypothesis.

Di-Caffeine malate is typically 75% caffeine and 25% malic acid, so Wrecked contains approximately 187.5mg of caffeine in total, which is still relatively mild for a pre-workout supplement. 

It’s worth noting that caffeine may not be ideal for you. While it is safe for most people, it can cause anxiety, insomnia, nausea, and other side effects, especially if you’re not used to high doses. So, exercise caution, and consider consulting with a doctor before using pre-workout, especially if you have any underlying heart problems. 

2. L-Citrulline

Next up, Wrecked also contains the active ingredient L-Citrulline. L-Citrulline has the acute effect of improving exercise capacity and recovery, which is likely caused by relation to nitric oxide production. 

Wrecked contains 4g of L-Citrulline per serving, and we recommend taking at least 3g of L-Citrulline to produce any effect. But most of it you will get with at least 8g. So you could consider taking 2 scoops (just remember that you will double other ingredients as well) 

Keep in mind that while L-Citrulline does have some research-backed benefits, it’s unlikely to make a massive difference in your ability to perform in the gym. Caffeine will likely have a much more significant impact on your energy levels and exercise performance.

3. Betaine

Wrecked’s next active ingredient we’ll be looking at is Betaine. Unlike L-Citrulline or caffeine, keep in mind that betaine has no acute effects. This means you’ll have to take it every day consistently to notice any benefits. However, studies have shown betaine to increase total force production and muscular endurance with chronic use. 

The study referenced above showed results when athletes took 2.5g total of betaine per day for two weeks. Wrecked only contains 1.5g of betaine per serving, although this may still produce some results with chronic use. Overall, like L-Citrulline, the effects from Betaine will likely be mild at best, even with daily use. 

4. Beta-Alanine

Finally, we have Beta-Alanine. Similar to Betaine, Beta-Alanine will only have chronic benefits and needs to be taken every day. Beta-Alanine’s primary benefit to athletes is reducing fatigue/time to exhaustion. This is most likely caused by Beta-Alanine’s effects on muscle carnosine levels. 

Wrecked contains 1.75g of Beta-Alanine per serving, which is fairly low, even with daily use. Generally, higher doses of 3-4g split into multiple doses throughout the day are likely ideal. However, like Betaine, these smaller doses may still be enough to produce some mild effects with consistent use. 

Keep in mind that Beta-Alanine may also cause “paresthesia,” or skin tingling/itchiness. However, this is more common in high doses and typically subsides with consistent use.

Pros and Cons of Wrecked Pre-Workout

Now that we’ve gone over Wrecked’s ingredients, let’s take a look at some of its pros and cons. This should help you decide whether Wrecked is worth it for you.  

1. Pros of Wrecked Pre-Workout

First, let’s take a look at the pros of Wrecked, which include its moderate dose of caffeine, flavor variety, and affordable price point. 

✅ Moderate Dose of Caffeine

A major pro of Wrecked is that it contains an appropriate amount of caffeine for the average person. This will make it more appealing to people who have never tried pre-workout before. 

At only ~187.5mg of caffeine per serving (including di-caffeine malate), there’s enough caffeine to provide a noticeable boost, but likely not enough to cause too many unwanted side effects. Higher caffeine pre-workouts with 250-400mg of caffeine per serving are likely far too intense for most people, even if they do appeal to some.

✅ Good Flavor Variety

Wrecked supplements also come in 7 different flavors, meaning there should be something for everybody here. Flavors include:

  • Sour Gummy

We’ve tried out several of the flavors, and they’re all pretty good for a pre-workout. In our opinion, the best option is Bomb Popsicle, but there really isn’t a bad option.

Another big plus for Wrecked is its price. At only ~$1.24 per serving, this supplement comes at a great price compared to many competitors. This is another reason we would recommend Wrecked to people looking to try pre-workout for the first time.

2. Cons of Wrecked Pre-Workout

Now that we’ve gone over some of Wrecked’s benefits, what about the downsides? These include the ingredient doses, the moderate caffeine dose, and its use of artificial ingredients. 

Ingredient Doses Could Be Higher

First, as we covered in our ingredients section, most of Wrecked’s ingredient doses could definitely be higher. When looking at the three main active ingredients, L-Citrulline, Betaine, and Beta-Alanine - The doses of all of them should be likely doubled.

With this being said, Betaine and Beta-Alanine both need to be taken daily for optimal effects anyway. So, unless you’re planning on taking pre-workout every day, this likely won’t have a huge impact on this supplement’s effectiveness for you.

Some May Prefer a Stronger Pre-Workout

While we included Wrecked’s moderate dose of caffeine in the pros section, we understand that a moderate pre-workout supplement isn’t what everyone’s looking for. Especially if you’ve been using pre-workout for years, you’ll likely want a supplement with more caffeine per serving. 

While 187.5mg isn’t necessarily a low dose of caffeine, something around 300mg of caffeine will provide a much more significant boost to someone with an especially high caffeine tolerance. With this being said, you could always just take one and a half to two servings of Wrecked if you want a stronger pre-workout but the price per serving will be different then.

Contains Some Artificial Ingredients

Finally, be aware that Wrecked is made with several artificial ingredients including sucralose. If you prefer to buy supplements made with 100% natural ingredients and sweeteners, then this may not be the best option for you.

How to Use Wrecked Pre-Workout?

Using Wrecked pre-workout is fairly straightforward. Huge recommends taking the supplement 20 to 30 minutes before your workout for optimal effectiveness. While they recommend taking one to two scoops, they also advise beginners to take a half scoop initially to see how the supplement affects them. 

We recommend mixing one scoop of Wrecked with 1-2 cups of water depending on how strong you want the flavor to be. Because it has a strong flavor on its own, we don’t recommend mixing it into smoothies or combining it with other ingredients. We also recommend using pre-workout earlier in the day to avoid any potential sleep problems. 

Wrecked Pre-Workout vs. Alternatives

Below we’ll be comparing Wrecked to two popular alternatives from Transparent Labs, Kaged, Gorilla Mode. This way you can see what else is out there, and decide if Wrecked is really the best option for you.

1. Wrecked vs Transparent Labs Bulk

First, let’s look at Transparent Labs’ Bulk pre-workout and how it compares to Wrecked. 

This is a slightly stronger option than Wrecked with 200mg of caffeine, although this is a very mild difference. Bulk also has similar active ingredients to Wrecked, including Citrulline Malate, Beta-Alanine, and Betaine. However, Transparent Labs contains significantly stronger doses of these ingredients than Wrecked.

Transparent Labs offers excellent flavor variety with Bulk coming in nine different options. Like all TL supplements, Bulk is also made with no artificial ingredients whatsoever.

Bulk is also only slightly more expensive than Wrecked at ~$1.67 per serving. However, if budget is a major factor for you, this may be a significant difference.

2. Wrecked vs Pre-Kaged

Next, let’s see how Wrecked stacks up to Pre-Kaged. 

If you’re looking for a much stronger option than Wrecked and Transparent Labs, Pre-Kaged is ideal with 274mg of caffeine per serving. It also contains solid doses of L-Citrulline and Betaine, although Beta-Alanine could be dosed higher. 

This is also the first pre-workout we’ve covered that includes creatine, one of the most effective sports supplements available.

However, creatine needs to be taken daily, and it isn’t dosed effectively here, so it won’t make any real difference. We recommend taking creatine on its own instead of getting it from a pre-workout supplement. 

Pre-Kaged has a similar flavor variety to Wrecked coming in seven different options. This supplement is also made with artificial sweetener if this is something you’d prefer to avoid. 

The biggest drawback to Pre-Kaged is its price. At ~$3.15 per serving, it’s over twice the cost of Wrecked. However, if budget isn’t a major factor for you, this is still a good all-around pick. 

3. Wrecked vs Gorilla Mode

Finally, let’s take a look at Wrecked compared to Gorilla Mode. 

Gorilla Mode has the same amount of caffeine as Transparent Labs at 200mg per serving. It also contains effective doses of L-Citrulline and Betaine. Like Kaged it also contains Creatine, albeit not at the expected dose.

In terms of price, Gorilla Mode falls in-between Wrecked and Transparent Labs at ~$1.50 per serving, making it another budget-friendly choice. 

Conclusion

So, is wrecked pre-workout good?

Overall, Huge’s Wrecked would make a great choice for anybody looking to try pre-workout for the first time. It’s got a moderate dose of caffeine, a decent active ingredient profile, and comes at a great price.

However, experienced pre-workout users may want to look elsewhere for a stronger supplement with more effective doses of its active ingredients or take 2 scoops and be prepared to pay for this.
