Greens supplements have recently become a popular way for people to boost their micronutrient intake and ensure they’re getting enough veggies in. But, are they worth it?
Today we’ll be looking at 8Greens super greens gummies, which as you may expect, is made from 8 different nutrient-dense greens. We’ll be breaking down this supplement’s nutritional information and weighing out its pros and cons so you can decide if it’s a good fit for your diet.
8Greens Gummies Review – As with most greens supplements, 8Greens may be beneficial if you struggle to eat a balanced diet, and are deficient in specific micronutrients. However, for most people, we recommend simply incorporating more whole food greens in your diet instead.

8Greens daily greens gummies are a nutritional supplement designed to provide the benefits of 8 different greens including spinach, kale, wheatgrass, spirulina, and more. But what are you really getting here?
8Greens has a micronutrient profile that mainly includes Vitamin C and B Vitamins, as well as a very small amount of Zinc. Each serving contains 171% of your daily Vitamin C and 11-44% of various B Vitamins. As a result, this isn’t a very complete nutritional profile compared to most other greens supplements or multivitamins out there. However, if you’re looking for a moderate boost to your daily Vitamin C and B Vitamin intake, this may be a good option for you.
So, are 8Greens gummies good for you? Overall, if you’re already getting enough Vitamin C and B Vitamins in your diet, it’s unlikely that 8Greens will provide any real benefit to you. As a result, claims surrounding metabolism, immunity, and focus are likely overstated.
While the benefits of 8Greens gummies may be minimal, it’s worth noting they do taste great. They don’t have the strong vegetable taste most people associate with greens supplements. This may make them easier to take regularly for some people when compared with greens powders. They are also naturally sweetened and made without any artificial ingredients if this is something you’re concerned about.
Each serving of 8Greens will cost about ~$1.14, which is fairly pricey for what you’re getting, even if it is cheaper than most other greens supplements. Remember that despite this, it’s also much more expensive than most multivitamins. It’s worth noting that 8Greens does offer some minor discounts for both subscribing and buying these gummies in bulk.

8Greens Nutrition Label Breakdown
Let’s take a closer look at 8Greens’ nutrition label so you know what to expect out of this supplement. Below we’ll be looking at its micronutrients, macronutrients, and ingredients.
Vitamins and Minerals
The main vitamins and minerals found in 8Greens are Vitamin C and various B Vitamins. The supplement also contains a very small amount of Zinc. Below is a breakdown of each vitamin you’re getting, and how much to expect.

As you can see, 8Greens is missing many of the micronutrients you may expect from a supplement like this. As a result, it won’t help you hit most of your micronutrient targets for the day. With that being said, let’s take a closer look at what vitamins and minerals you are getting here.
Vitamin C is used in the body for fighting infections and healing wounds, although most people likely get more than enough Vitamin C in their diet without supplementation. This is especially true if they’re eating enough citrus, potatoes, green vegetables, and other fruits. For most people, supplementation with Vitamin C is likely not harmful, although it is probably unnecessary.
B Vitamins play many roles in the body, largely relating to enzyme function. Once again, most people eating a balanced diet won’t be deficient in B Vitamins and thus will experience no benefits from supplementing with them. One exception is vegans and vegetarians who are very commonly deficient in B12 specifically. However, they may prefer to take a specific B12 supplement instead of something like 8Greens which only contains 37.5% of their DV.
This supplement also contains Zinc, which is also beneficial for enzyme reactions. However, it’s only dosed at 2.7% of your daily value and is unlikely to make a major difference in your daily intake. Sodium is also included here, although at a negligible dose of <2% of your DV.
While some people may notice benefits to 8Greens’ nutritional profile, for the vast majority of people it will likely provide little to no benefit. If you’re concerned about vitamin deficiencies, we recommend consulting with your doctor and getting your blood work done. They can then make more specific recommendations about which micronutrients you need to function your best.
Macronutrient Breakdown
In terms of macronutrients, 8Greens gummies are very simple. They contain 20 calories per serving, all of which come from 5g of carbs. These gummies also contain 3g of added sugars for sweetening.
It’s unlikely a serving 8Greens gummies will make a major difference in the average person’s daily caloric intake. However, keep this in mind if you are on a strict caloric deficit, or you’re following a keto diet.
8Greens Ingredient Breakdown
As per their name, 8Greens gummies are primarily made of 8 different green ingredients. These include:
- Spinach
- Aloe Vera
- Wheatgrass Powder
- Kale
- Barley Grass
- Blue Green Algae
- Chlorella
- Spirulina
While these are all great sources of various micronutrients, the issue here is how much of each ingredient you’re getting as part of 8Greens. These ingredients are included as part of a proprietary blend dosed at 150mg per serving. So, while these are great ingredients, you’re getting minuscule doses of each in a single serving.
Pros and Cons of 8Greens
Below we’ll be going over the specific pros and cons of 8Greens gummies, which should give you a clearer idea of whether this supplement is right for you or not.
Pros of 8Greens
First, let’s look at the pros. The main upsides of 8Greens are that they have a great flavor, an all-natural formula, and are significantly cheaper than many other greens supplements out there.
✅ Great Flavor
First, one of the main benefits of 8Greens is that it tastes great. While we found there to be a bit of a vegetable aftertaste, for the most part, they just taste like gummy candy. This makes them a great choice if you hate the taste of most regular greens supplements.
It’s worth noting that this may come down to personal preference, as there are some 8Greens negative reviews that mention the taste of these supplements being unpleasant.
✅ All-Natural Formula
It’s worth noting that 8Greens is naturally sweetened with sugar and glucose syrup, as well as being naturally flavored. While the sugar adds a few calories, this also means it doesn’t contain any artificial sweeteners or flavorings if this is something you prefer to avoid in your supplements.
✅ Cheaper Alternative to Other Greens Supplements
Next, compared to many other greens supplements on the market, 8Greens are a great deal. Each serving costs about ~$1.14, while many other greens supplements are within the $2-3 range instead (however they actually contain much more “greens”).
Just keep in mind that 8Greens is still significantly more expensive than most multivitamins out there. So, if budget is a major factor for you, a simple multivitamin may be a better option. Also, consider consulting with a doctor first to determine whether supplementing with micronutrients is necessary at all for you.
Cons of 8Greens
Now that we’ve looked at the pros, let’s consider the cons. These include 8Greens’ incomplete micronutrient profile, and the overstated benefits on their site.
❌ Incomplete Micronutrient Breakdown
First, as we covered above, 8Greens only provides significant amounts of Vitamin C and B Vitamins. If you’re looking for a supplement with a more complete micronutrient profile, this won’t be your best bet.
Especially if you eat a healthy, balanced diet, it’s unlikely you need extra Vitamin C and B Vitamins anyway. While vegans and vegetarians may benefit from Vitamin B12 in particular, they’re likely better off supplementing with this individually instead.
❌ Potentially Overstated Benefits
On their website, 8Greens advertises their product as being beneficial for metabolism, immunity, and focus. These would likely all be benefits of correcting deficiencies in either Vitamin C or B Vitamins. However, because most people already get enough Vitamin C and B Vitamins in their diet, adding more won’t provide any noticeable benefits.
A major misconception surrounding vitamin supplements is that they will provide added benefits beyond normal function associated with adequate intake. In reality, most vitamin supplements will only provide noticeable benefits if you’re deficient in certain micronutrients.
As a result, when a brand like 8Greens says their supplement will boost metabolic rate, enhance immunity, and promote sharper focus – take it with a grain of salt. If for some reason that is advertised as a result of greens - you are taking 150mg with a single dose - to give you some perspective, a safe and recommended dose for adults of spirulina is between 3-10g/day (3000-10000mg/day).
How to Use 8Greens Gummies?
If you decide to start using 8Greens Gummies, they’re very simple to take. 8Greens recommends taking 2-4 gummies (1-2 servings) throughout the day to get all the nutritional benefits of the supplement while curbing your sweet tooth.
If you’re worried about 8Green Gummies side effects, there’s likely nothing wrong with taking multiple doses a day. Just keep in mind that if you’re not deficient in any micronutrients, there also likely won’t be any noticeable difference in the way you feel from this supplement. This is true regardless of how many servings you take a day. So, if you decide to use this supplement, be aware that there are likely no benefits to taking a higher dose than recommended.

Now that we’ve gone in-depth on 8Greens, you may be wondering, “What do other greens supplements have to offer?” Below we’ll be comparing 8Greens to two popular alternatives in Kaged Greens and AG1.

First, let’s look at Kaged’s Organic Greens Elite supplement.
This supplement has 9 total greens and contains most of the ingredients found in 8Greens Gummies, including spinach, kale, chlorella, and spirulina. The greens are also dosed much higher than in 8Greens, ranging from 250-1250mg each. For reference, 8Greens only has 150mg total of all its green ingredients combined per serving.
Kaged offers a multitude of other ingredients including blueberry, apple cider vinegar, cranberry, turmeric, and more. This blend gives Kaged a much more complete nutritional profile with 21 different vitamins and minerals, making it more similar to a traditional multivitamin. Just keep in mind that if you’re not deficient in any of these micronutrients, supplementation is likely unnecessary.
One interesting ingredient Kaged also includes is Ashwagandha. This ingredient has been shown to help boost testosterone, likely through mechanisms involving cortisol reduction. It’s dosed here at 300mg which has been shown to be an effective dose. However, it may not be ideal for everyone, especially with consistent daily use. We recommend doing your own research to make sure Ashwagandha is right for you. So, keep this in mind before using Kaged.
While Kaged is certainly a more nutritionally complete supplement when compared to 8Greens, it is also much more expensive. Kaged costs about twice as much at ~$2.00 per serving.

Next, let’s look at one of the leading supplements in this space, AG1. AG1 asserts that it is much more than a greens supplement, and is instead positioned as a foundational nutritional supplement.
Similar to Kaged, AG1 has significantly more ingredients than 8Greens, with 70 total ingredients going into its formula. It also has a much more complete nutritional profile, with 19 total micronutrients in every serving. Similar to both Kaged and 8Greens, just keep in mind that there won’t be too many benefits unless you’re deficient in some of these micronutrients.
This is also the most expensive supplement we’ve looked at, costing ~$3.30 per serving. While AG1 is made with high-quality ingredients, it is difficult to justify this price for what you’re getting.
Conclusion
Overall, while 8Greens Gummies are a tasty and convenient way to get some extra vitamins in, they just aren’t necessary for most people. This is true for almost all greens supplements.
8Greens mainly contain Vitamin C and B Vitamins, which most people eating a balanced diet already get enough of. While this may be good for vegans and vegetarians who need extra B12, these people would likely be better off with a more specialized B12 supplement.
So, while there’s likely no harm in using 8Greens gummies, don’t expect to notice any significant boosts when taking it either. So while greens supplements are quite popular now, don’t expect a lot of greens from the gummies.
