At the 2024 IWF Weightlifting World Cup Wang Zhouyu won Silver in The Women’s 81 kg Category

As the IWF World Cup nears its conclusion, the spotlight intensifies on the heavyweight divisions where athletes are battling fiercely for coveted spots at the upcoming Paris Olympic Games.

Even with such high-stakes, the women competing in the 81 kg category have captivated audiences with a breathtaking display of strength and skill, underscoring the immense significance of this competition in their Olympic journey.

One of the heroes of the day was Wang Zhouyu from China, who managed to deliver a fantastic performance, even if it was not up to her usual standards.

The Chinese lifter started off well, getting 120 kg on her first Snatch attempt but failing the other two of 125 kg, which left her with the silver medal for the lift. Later on, during the Clean & Jerk, she again got 147 kg on her first try but failed to lift 150 kg on her final two attempts, which left her in second place for that lift as well.
