Karlos Nasar, who has been one of the biggest stars in Olympic weightlifting this year, showed an incredible performance once again at the Bulgarian nationals, which are being held from the 26th to the 30th of June.
Nasar, who we are all awaiting to see in Paris, improved two world records and won three gold medals during the Bulgarian Personal Weightlifting Championships in Ruse.
The 20-year-old weightlifter got 183 kilograms in the Snatch, thus lifting one kilogram more than the top performance in the movement by the Columbian Jeison Lopez that was set earlier this year in April.

In the C&J, Nasar tackled 225 kilograms, 2 kilograms more than his own world record from last December, but still one kilogram less than what he managed to achieve earlier in the year in a German unofficial competition.
Nasar even attempted 230 kilograms, and made an impressive clean but failed in the jerk. With those results, he improved to the unofficial total top mark in the category, which was now 408 kilograms, as he lifted a full 12 kg more than Li Daiyin from China, improving on his world record from last May at the Asian Championships.
With less than a month before the start of the Olympic Games in Paris, it’s clear that Nasar is the favorite for the 89 kg category. When asked about his form and feelings in terms of the Paris Games, the Bulgarian simply answered:
“I’m in the best shape I’ve ever been, and I’m looking forward to the Olympics. May I be healthy and well, and may God be with me, I will do my best to repeat these results there”.
