Garik Karapetyan is one of the best-known names in the men’s 102 kg category, and his performance during the IWF World Cup in Thailand reminded us all why that is.

The Armenian started strongly, lifting 185 kg on his last Snatch attempt, which got him the bronze medal for the lift. Unfortunately, he couldn’t continue with the same spirit during the Clean & Jerk, as he only got 216 kg, which left him in fifth place.

In his career, the Armenian has one European title and a bronze medal from this year’s Europeans. He’s hoping to represent Armenia at the upcoming Olympic Games and fight for the most important medal in his career thus far.
