Fares El-Bakh Showing Good Form Before the Asian Championship 2024

The Asian Championship 2024 is set to start on February 3rd in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, and before the competition starts, all top athletes are doing their best to get in shape, as this is one of the last qualifiers for the Paris Olympics in the summer. With less than a month before the Championships begin, Fares El-Bakh from Qatar is showing top form.

In a video uploaded on his Instagram page, the Qatari weightlifter can be seen doing heavy Clean&Jerk of 225 kg and with ease. The 25-year-old, who already has an Olympic gold medal under his belt in the 96 kg category, is now set to compete in the 102 kg division and to try and win there as well.

Last year, during the World Championship in Riyadh, he managed to finish seventh overall but won SIlver on the Clean&Jerk, but during the IWF Grand Prix later on in the year, he finished with a Gold Medal and a total of 400 kg lifted (176 kg on snatch and 225 on Clean & Jerk), which sets him up for success during this Olympic year.
