Khambao Surodchana Won Bronze at the 2024 Paris Olympics (Women’s 49 kg)

Khambao Surodchana of Thailand delivered a stellar performance in the Women’s 49 kg weightlifting category at the Paris 2024 Olympics, earning the bronze medal with a total of 200 kg. Her journey to the podium began with a strong showing in the Snatch, where she successfully lifted 86 kg on the first attempt, failed 88 kg on the second attempt but managed to get them on the third one.
Transitioning to the Clean & Jerk, Surodchana continued to showcase her strength and determination. She managed an impressive first lift of 110 kg, followed by a second one of 112 kg and failing on her final one of 114 kg, cementing her total at 200 kg.
This lift was not only a testament to her physical capabilities but also highlighted her mental fortitude and focus under the intense pressure of Olympic competition.

Surodchana’s combined total of 200 kg positioned her securely in third place, just behind the silver medalist, Mihaela Cambei of Romania, who lifted 205 kg, and the gold medalist, Hou Zhihui of China, who lifted 206 kg. Her bronze medal achievement is a significant milestone in her weightlifting career, marking her as one of the top competitors in the world.
