Karlos Nasar, a 19-year-old Bulgarian weightlifting prodigy, world champion, and current European champion in the 89 kg category, has been making waves in the world of weightlifting with his heavy back squats.

This spring, after an epic victory at the European Championships in Yerevan, Nasar suffered an ankle injury and underwent ligament repair surgery. Despite assumptions that recovery could be lengthy, Nasar demonstrated a return to form just three months later at the World Championships in Saudi Arabia.

Although he did not compete at the Worlds, Karlos confidently lifted 160 kg in the snatch and 180 kg in the clean and jerk during training sessions – figures far from his peak performances, but inspiring hope for a competitive return soon.
