An athlete showed staggering lifts showing his clear technique and progress. Nasar constantly proves his immaculate growth in lifting heavier weights. As well he is improving his performance at an unusually fast pace.
In Snatch, he succeeded in all three attempts: 150 kg, 160 kg, with 170 kg at his best. In Clean & Jerk, Karlos lifted 215 kg, although it was 6 kg less than his record of 221 kg in 2023 in Yerevan. The result is quite impressive considering his previous Achilles injury and that he missed the World Weightlifting Championships in Riyadh. His total result was 385 kg.
Overall, Nasar looked strong and confident. For Karlos, it was the second official contest after the serious leg injury.
Let’s remind you of the lifter’s previous accomplishments. Karlos Nasar is a holder of 5 records, both World Junior and Senior ones. In 2023 at the European Weightlifting Championships in Yerevan, he set the following records:
- 221 kg in Clean & Jerk by setting senior record and winning gold;
- 395 kg in Total resulting in setting Senior and Junior records and gold medal;
- 174 kg in Snatch by beating the World Junior Record with silver.
Previously, he also broke another Junior World record with 211 kg in Clean & Jerk in 2022 at the European Championships in Tirana.
Still, the world weightlifting community hopes that Karlos Nasar will recover completely and will show his powerful lifts during the next competitions that will bring him a title.
