With the Olympic Games just around the corner and just a few competitions left to qualify, all athletes are getting ready to show their best form. One of them is China’s Lui Huanhua, who has one last shot to get to Paris and is making sure that he will take it.
As it stands, Lin Huanhua will look forward to competing in the 102 kg division after moving one up from the 96 kg, and given the fact that he won the gold medal at last year’s World Championship in Riyadh, we can be certain that he will be in the battle for the podium during the Olympics.
Last week, we all learned the quite shocking news that team China will miss the Asian Championship starting in just a few days, and so the last chance for Olympic qualification for Lin Huanhua remains the IWF World Cup set to be held in Thailand from 31st of March to 11th of April.

Even though this competition looks far away, seeing as it is still January, on social media, we can see that Huanhua is preparing to enter his best shape. In videos shared on his Instagram profile, we can see the Chinese representative easily making a 230 kg split jerk, and at the beginning of this month, he was doing the front squat with 255 kg for reps.
In his relatively short career, Lin Huanhua has managed to win 3 gold medals in 4 competitions that he has participated in while also switching divisions. It’s safe to say that for team China, he is definitely among the hopes for an Olympic title, but before that, he needs to ensure qualification by performing at his best during the IWF World Cup in Thailand.
