Jiang Huihua Won Bronze at the 2024 IWF World Cup In Thailand

The IWF World Cup in Thailand is the last chance for athletes to qualify for the coveted Olympic Games later on this year. And as it’s such an important event, the show is guaranteed and it was kicked off by the women’s 49 kg category, where we saw some memorable performances.

Jiang Huihua

Jiang Huihua from China came out ready to compete and managed to lift 94 kg in the Snatch, which was enough to put her in third place, right behind her compatriot. Huihua’s good performance continued in the Clean & Jerk, where she managed to get 114 kg, for a total of 208 kg, and the bronze medal in the category.

Even though this was a solid outing for Huihua, it was, unfortunately, 8 kg less in total compared to her previous result at the IWF Grand Prix II in Qatar.

Career-wise, Huihua is a four-time World Champion and the 2023 Asian Champion, so the only piece missing from her illustrious resume is the Olympic gold medal, which she hopes to achieve in Paris.
