Day 9 of the World Cup in Thailand displayed that female lifters have their sights set on defeating their rivals and becoming closer to victory in this competition. Ten athletes demonstrated their desire and resilience to stand out and boost their personal bests during this tense race.

The gold medalist in the Women’s 76-kg weight category became Jong Chun Hui who snatched 114 kg from the third attempt, lifted 145 kg in the Clean & Jerk exercise at the second attempt, and resulted in 259 kg.
The second place moved to the weightlifter from France Marie Fegue who performed a lift of 115 kg in Snatch on the third attempt by winning gold, lifted 130 kg on the first attempt, and got overall 245 kg.
Miyareth Carabali Mendoza from Colombia became third with the following results: Snatch of 106 kg on the second lift, 134 kg in Clean & Jerk on the second attempt as well, and 240 kg in total.
All in all, female lifters showed a decent performance showcasing their inner determination to compete to get top positions in the category’s rating. Today’s leader finished with a great weight gap of 19 kilos ahead of the third place and 14 kilos ahead of the silver holder.
Top Athletes’ Review
The 76-kg weight category gold medalist Jong Chun Hui previously was competing at the 53- and 69-kg weight divisions, succeeding in getting silver at the summer Youth Olympic games in 2014.
The silver medalist Marie Fegue, originally Cameroonian, was competing in the women’s 69 kg category at the 2014 Commonwealth Games succeeding to win gold. She’s also a two-time gold medalist at the European Championships in 2022 and 2023.
The bronze medal went to the Columbian lifter Miyareth Carabali Mendoza. She’s a bronze medalist at the 2017 World Championships, a silver medal holder at the Pan American Champs and gold medalist at the Bolivian Games.

After watching the Snatch performance, we can confirm that more than a half of all lifts resulted in good lifts. Here’s the best Snatch lifts of the category’s leaders:

Clean & Jerk results:
The situation in the Clean & Jerk session was 50/50: half of lifters didn’t succeed in lifting one attempt, while three athletes had two red lights.
