  • 🥈Karim Abokahla (EGY) – 165-205-370
  • 🥉Braydon James Kennedy (CAN) – 165-193-358

The gold medalist in the Men’s 96-kg weight category became Won Jeong Beom from South Korea who took gold: a Snatch at 170 kg, Clean & Jerk at 219 kg, and 389 kg overall.

The second place moved to the weightlifter from Egypt Karim Abokahla who performed 370 kg in total, 165 kg in Snatch, and 205 kg in Clean & Jerk.

Braydon James Kennedy from Canada became a bronze medalist with the following results: 165 kg in Snatch, 193 kg in Clean & Jerk, and a total of 358 kg.

Top Athletes’ Review

The 96-kg weight class gold medalist Won Jongbeom improved his previous results: at the Asian Championships, he lifted 8 kilos less, namely 162 kg in Snatch, 14 kilos less that is 205 kg in Clean & Jerk, resulting in 367 kg in total. While at the 2023 Worlds, he showed the result of 172-212-384.

The silver medalist Karim Abokahla from Egypt showed his second-best result. In Snatch, he equalled his result at the World Championships of 165 kg; while in Clean & Jerk, it was his second worse result.

The bronze medalist Canadian Braydon James Kennedy made his personal best in Clean & Jerk by 3 kilos and a total by 4 kilos.

Snatch results:

After watching the Snatch performance, we can confirm that two lifters had two failed attempts. While one athlete from France refused to perform in the exercise.

Clean & Jerk results:

The situation in the Clean & Jerk round was almost the same with Snatch: two athletes resulted with two no lifts. The French athlete didn’t perform in this exercise as well.

  • 🥈Abokahla Karim (EGY) – 205 kg
  • 🥉Kennedy Braydon James (CAN) – 193 kg
