The 2024 IWF World Cup in Thailand serves as the ultimate opportunity for athletes to secure their spots in the upcoming Olympic Games slated for later this summer.
With their Olympic aspirations on the line, anticipation is high for remarkable performances at this pivotal competition. Fortunately, the men’s 73 kg category lived up to expectations, delivering numerous outstanding outings.
Bak Joo-hyo didn’t start the competition day in the best way possible, lifting only 150 kg on the Snatch, which left him outside of the top 10 for this list.

However, the representative of South Korea managed to pull himself together during the Clean & Jerk, as he got 195 kg on his second attempt, beating his previous best by four kilograms and securing the bronze medal for this lift.
Unfortunately, due to his performance on the Snatch, his total of 345 kg got him only to fifth place overall.
For his career, his best achievements so far are a silver medal from the Junior World Championships in 2017 and fourth place at last year’s Asian Championships.
