European Medalist

Giulia Miserendino, born June 24th, 2002, in Palermo, Italy, is an Italian weightlifter making waves on the European and international stage. Known for her steady rise through junior and senior ranks, Giulia has established herself as one of Italy’s brightest prospects in Olympic weightlifting.

Giulia began her competitive career in 2015, showing early promise at national junior competitions. By 2017 she was placing in the top five in Italian championships in the 63 kg category, and she steadily climbed the ranks with podium finishes in subsequent years. Her junior career peaked in 2021 at the Junior European Championships in Rovaniemi, where she set Italian junior records with a 100 kg snatch, 120 kg clean&jerk, and a 220 kg total, signaling her arrival on the European stage.

Her breakthrough into senior competition came after moving up to the 71 kg category. At the 2022 Senior World Championships in Bogotá, she finished 9th overall and set new Italian senior records with a 110 kg snatch and a 233 kg total. These performances positioned her as a rising star capable of challenging Europe’s best lifters.

In 2023, Giulia solidified her place among the continent’s top weightlifters. At the European Weightlifting Championships in Yerevan, she earned the silver medal in total (230 kg), marking her first senior-level European podium. Later that year, at the European U23 Championships in Bucharest, she dominated her category, winning gold in snatch (107 kg), clean&jerk (123 kg), and total (230 kg). Her consistent results across multiple weight classes – 64 kg, 71 kg, and later 69 kg – demonstrate her versatility and growing technical strength.

In 2024, Giulia claimed a silver medal at the European U23 Championships, demonstrating her steady progression and readiness to compete at higher senior levels.

Giulia Miserendino’s best competition lifts include a 110 kg snatch and a 125  kg clean&jerk. At only 23 years old, she is already an Italian record holder, multiple European medallist, and a promising talent for future World Championships and Olympic Games. Her dedication, consistency, and technical mastery make her one of the most exciting young athletes in European weightlifting today, inspiring the next generation of Italian lifters.
