Legion Protein Bars Review: Quick Summary
Protein Bars by Legion

While Legion is likely better known for their protein powder and pre-workout, they also offer a very solid Protein Bar.
With 20g of protein per bar, these are a great tool for helping you get protein on the go, especially if you’re bulking. They may not be as suitable for use in a caloric deficit because of their relatively high carb and fat content. It’s also worth noting that these could be higher in micronutrients.
At ~$3.33, these are also fairly pricey, although we believe this is a fair price for such a high-quality protein bar from a reputable brand.

Who and What are Legion Protein Bars For?
Legion bars are best suited to anyone who struggles to get enough protein during the day. For reference, we recommend getting 0.7-1g of protein per pound of body weight to support muscle growth. It can also be useful for those who need convenient protein on the go, and those who want a high-protein alternative to other sweet treats.
It’s worth noting that protein bars may be better for those bulking, as these are fairly high in carbs and fats. Those trying to stick to a caloric deficit may prefer lower-calorie sources of protein like lean meats and protein powder instead.
Legion Protein Bars Review
Below we’ll be taking a closer look at Legion’s macros, micros, taste, texture, and more. Let’s get into it!
1. Macronutrient Breakdown
First, let’s look at Legion’s macros, which are one of the most important factors when finding a protein bar that will work well for you.
• Protein
First, Legion contains 20g of protein across all flavors. While this is a solid amount for a protein bar, it does only work out to about 32% of the total calories.
• Carbs
These bars have 24-29g of carbs per bar, which is broken down between 6-9g of fiber, and 4-9g depending on the flavor. We recommend the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough flavor if you want more fiber and less total sugar.
• Fat
Finally, Legion has 11-12g of fat per serving, which includes 6g of saturated fat. Keep in mind that the American Heart Association recommends limiting your saturated fat intake to 7% of your total calories, although recent research shows that saturated fat may not be as harmful as once thought.
2. Fiber per Serving
Each Legion protein bar contains 6-9g of fiber. With a high-fiber diet (25-35g/day) being associated with better overall health, these bars are an easy way to boost your daily fiber intake.
3. Micro Breakdown
Micronutrients are not these bars’ strong suit. While these bars contain some Calcium, Iron, and Potassium, they contain less than 10% of your DV for each of these minerals.
4. Taste/Texture
While Legion offers 4 different flavors of their protein bars, we tried Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, as this is their most popular flavor. This is also the option with the lowest sugar and highest fiber content. From our experience, the bar was delicious and didn’t have the chalky texture common in protein bars.
5. Nutrition Label Transparency
Legion’s a great brand if you’re concerned about transparency, as all of their products are certified by Labdoor for purity and potency, ensuring a high-level of quality.
6. Value for Money
Each Legion protein bar will cost you about ~$3.33, which is fairly expensive. However, when you buy more than 3 boxes at a time, Legion does offer a 20% discount!
How Do You Use Legion Protein Bars?
We recommend using Legion’s protein bars if you struggle to get enough daily protein intake. While we always recommend prioritizing whole food protein sources, these are a quick and easy way to get protein in while you’re on the go. Because these bars have a good amount of protein, fats, and carbs, they can even be a suitable meal replacement when you’re on the go – just be aware they don’t have the best micronutrient breakdown.
