Hafthor Bjornsson Is Getting Ready to Return to Competition After Injury

Undoubtedly the most popular name in the world of strongmen, Hafthor Bjornsson is getting ready for this year’s competitions after being side-lined with a small injury.

In a recent YouTube video, the Islander shared that he has been suffering from inflammation in the calf and hamstring area, which he describes as feeling painful and stiff, which led to him taking a full week break in the midst of training in order to give himself the proper time to recover.

Hafthor shared that he typically never gives himself full weeks to recover and that he has been feeling the pain for a while now but had decided to train on it lightly, which ultimately only ended up setting him back and not allowing his body to perform at the highest level.

The good news is that the full week of rest helped, and the ex-World Strongest Man was able to deadlift 440 kg on his first session back, as shown in a video he uploaded to Instagram.
