Laura’s big break came in 2021 when she won the silver medal in the women’s 76 kg snatch at the World Weightlifting Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. This showed her potential.

In 2022, she continued with impressive performances and won a silver medal in the women’s 87 kg category at the South American Gems in Asunción, Paraguay. She’s consistent and it shows – she’s won multiple bronze medals at the Pan American Weightlifting Championships in 2020, 2021, and 2022.

In 2023, she won a bronze medal in the women’s 81 kg event at the Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile, and she repeated this success with another bronze at the 2024 Pan American Weightlifting Championships in Caracas, Venezuela.

But her talents go beyond weightlifting. At the 2016 Winter Youth Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway, she competed in the girls’ skeleton event and showed how versatile she is.
