The Bulgarian wunderkind, who has been taking the world of weightlifting by storm, showcased another incredible performance during a competition round in the Bundesliga for team Hainsheim.

During today’s session, Nasar lifted 226 kg in the Clean & Jerk, which is now an unofficial world record for the 89 kg weight category.

The current world record of 223 kg also belongs to the Bulgarian, who set it during an IWF World Cup in Thailand last month.

This new world record won’t count because he did it during a competition not included in the calendar of the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF).

According to the IWF, only lifts done in approved competitions such as the World Cup, European Championships, Pan-American Championships, Asian Championships, and Olympic Games can count for the record books.

That said, Nasar also tried breaking the world record (unofficially) in the Snatch, as he attempted 183 kg; however, he didn’t manage to complete that lift.

Undoubtedly, Nasar has been a force to reckon with in weightlifting this year. He has emerged victorious in every major competition he has participated in, and his attempts to break the world record in the Snatch have been commendable.

If he maintains this level of performance, he is poised to be the frontrunner for the Olympic title this summer.
