2023 WRPF Femme Fatale Ladies of Strength: How It Was

The WRPF Femme Fatale Ladies of Strength 2023 meet ended October 8. This year it was held in Arizona. This time 20 athletes who have become famous in other sports also participated there. The age range this time was from 20 to 60 years old as in previous years. 

Malinda Barnes highlighted the wonderful facts that 12 athletes have become regular participants in this event, whereas they had not participated in any other event before. This confirms her intention for women to become as familiar with the sport of powerlifting as possible. Initially, the purpose of founding this competition revolved around just that.

Open Category: Chloe Esperence

 Competition favorite Chloe Esperence

Chloe Esperence, a participant in both the Junior and Open divisions emerged as the winner in the category. With a weight of 83.5 kilograms Chloe displayed strength and potential achieving a DOTS score of 428.76. Here are her top lifts from the event:

  • Squat — 177.5 kilograms (391.3 pounds)
  • Bench Press — 85 kilograms (187.4 pounds)
  • Deadlift — 185 kilograms (407.9 pounds)

Chloes exceptional performance at the competition suggests a future in the sport if she decides to continue competing.

Submaster Category: Sarah McKee

Sarah McKee delivered a performance in the Submaster category claiming the title of Best Lifter with a score of 288.74. Competing in the 100 kilogram weight class she achieved a sweep with nine lifts triumphing in both the Submaster and Open categories. Here are her standout lifts:

  • Squat — 120 kilograms (264.6 pounds)
  • Bench Press — 65 kilograms (143.3 pounds)
  • Deadlift — 145 kilograms (319.7 pounds)
  • Total— 330 kilograms (727.6 pounds)

Master Category: Christine Gillespie

In the Master category Christine Gillespie stood out with a score of 382.52 earning her the title of Best Masters Lifter. Her only miss during the day was her attempt at bench pressing 107.5 kilograms (237 pounds). This competition marked her meet within two years of competing. She achieved personal records in both squatting and bench pressing. Here are Christine’s impressive lifts:

  • Squat — 167.5 kilograms (369.3 pounds)
  • Bench Press — 92.5 kilograms (204 pounds)
  • Deadlift — 197.5 kilograms (435.4 pounds)
  • Total — 457.5 kilograms (1,008.7 pounds)

The WRPF Femme Fatale Championships held in 2023 showcased not only these female athletes incredible strength and commitment but also set new personal records while raising standards for future competitors. We can’t wait to see what the upcoming year of competition will bring.
